The kickoff of the Tennessee Children’s Advocacy Centers, One with Courage campaign was March 8, 2012, in the Old Supreme Court Chambers at the State Capitol. Over a hundred Tennesseans from across the state participated in the event. Click here to view photos of our kickoff event.
Brent Peterson with the Nashville Predators Hockey Team talked about how coaches strive to shape young athletes, not only as hockey players, but as individuals as well. He emphasized the importance of having the courage to speak out about an issue, even if it is difficult one like child sexual abuse in the coaching of any young athlete.
Monica Greppin Watts with the Tennessee Board of Regents said it starts with education. She expressed hope that One with Courage will encourage discussions in boardrooms and break rooms, on practice field and front porches.
